[the following post is dedicated to miss erikka ferris, for hassling me to update and for reminding me that someone actually reads my senseless ramblings .. much love to you my lady
I knowww, I know, I know ...
I am possibly the world’s worst procrastinator and the most negligent of bloggers, but I am back!! And I promise to break my pattern and have more than one update this month. In the meantime, here’s what I’ve been up to in the marvelous month of April and a little bit of May ...
Picking up where we left off last month, we have just come to the end of our fifth week here at Tondara Holiday Flats, and what an amazing month it has been. Our little holiday home away from home is plunked right in the middle of the beach and the bar, and surrounded by places that have already spawned dangerous addictions in all of us (burger lounge burgers and $1 coffee from 7/11 are just the beginning).
The job hunt has been a little tedious, to put it mildly - advice to anyone planning to travel the Gold Coast; nobody hires in Australian Winter, ie. between June and August - but I was lucky enough to score a hostessing job at a seafood restaurant only 45 minutes away! Considering our poor wagon Aggie is sick, it's a good thing Australia has an excellent transit system...
Since I can't begin to remember or recount everything that's happened the last five turbulant weeks, I'll leave you with some of my favourite shots. These pictures have been generously donated by Adam and Donald (or taken by me on Adam's camera) because I am sadly still camera-less .. enjoy!
Kirra Beach aka, home for the next two months!
Down south is Byron Bay, up north is Surfers Paradise,
This spot here is probably a 4 minute walk from my front doorstep.
not too shabby?
The gents enjoying a housewarming drink in the first few days of the move-in.
Helloooo Tondara!
Meet our surrogate house cat, Paul. She lives in our complex and comes to visit us whenever she's in the mood for an extra cuddle or perhaps a nap on someone's legs ... she is the most wonderful little kitten and is seriously helping me through my pet withdrawal.
Walking out to the surf in Byron Bay,
while menacing clouds loom overhead...
this photo was immediately followed by a mad dash back to the car in the rain.

Our two beautiful neighbors, Anna and Nicole, seen here with me moments before we ran off to terrorize the cooly hotel with our scandalous dancing and loud noises. What an excellent night it was, and so many more to come... Thank you for being wonderful ladies, and for letting me steal your makeup and incense and zip-lock bags
There is a part of me that wants to write, a part that wants to theorize, a part that wants to sculpt, a part that wants to teach ... To force myself into a single role, to decide to be just one thing in life, would kill off large parts of me. Rather, I recognize that I live now and only now, and I will do what I want to do this moment and not what I decided was best for me yesterday
